Tactical Resilient Integrated Detection for Economic-zone Naval Threats

The North Sea is a complex operational environment where underwater threats such as divers, AUVs, and other low-signature objects are difficult to detect. Continuous monitoring using traditional means is costly and operationally demanding. TRIDENT is designed to detect, locate, and track underwater threats in real time.

Objective

TRIDENT aims to demonstrate that autonomous platforms can contribute to the continuous underwater surveillance of critical infrastructure such as cables, offshore installations, and maritime corridors.

Approach

The project combines an autonomous USV with an "OptiArray" hydrophone array and a Remote Operations Centre. During maritime demonstrations, acoustic detection, classification, and tracking capabilities will be validated using controlled test targets.
