To this end, wind tunnel tests, CFD simulations and dynamic mooring analyses will be used. In progress LEVIATAD LEVIATAD brings together 6 organisations from 4 countries to develop new tools and methods that can help SMEs expand their activities in the marine sector. The aim is to strengthen their market position via international support measures. Past CHyPS The shipping industry is highly diverse and encompasses the carriage of goods by sea, along the coast and by inland waterways. A great deal of research is conducted into energy carriers and powertrains to make vessels more environmentally friendly. In this context, the CHyPS project has recently been launched. Past eMSP NBSR Several European partners work together in the project ‘Emerging ecosystem-based Maritime Spatial Planning topics in North and Baltic Seas Region’ to develop a European vision for maritime spatial planning. The focus is especially on a sustainable blue economy. Past UNITED The space available at sea is limited. In order to make optimum use of that space, it is important to combine various activities in the same location. That is called multi-use or multiple use of space. The Horizon 2020 project UNITED is strongly focused on this. Past SMARAGD An offshore wind farm entails many maintenance costs. The partners within the SMARAGD project are developing an autonomous vessel to transport goods to and from the wind turbines. The aim is to reduce unnecessary costs. Past H2Tugboats This feasibility study forms the basis of the implementation of hydrogen as a clean fuel in marine shipping in Flanders, responding to two complex challenges: reducing shipping emissions and adapting port infrastructure to this reduction. Past SSAVE (Shared Situational Awareness for VEssels) The aim of the SSAVE project is to improve the quality of the data, the interconnectivity and the interoperability in maritime shipping and inland navigation. Safe and verified direct and indirect communication between assets will be created to this effect. Past SSN (Shore Supported Navigation) The aim of this pilot project is the remote control of an estuary vessel between the ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge. This is done with a reduced crew on board and a captain in a control centre on land. Past Pagination Previous page Page 1 Current page 2
