SEAMLESS

SEAMLESS develops an integrated maritime surveillance system that combines sensor data, satellite imagery, AIS information, and AI-driven analytics into a single operational and actionable situational awareness picture.

Type
DBC project

Maritime authorities are required to interpret ever-growing volumes of data in the busy and complex North Sea environment. Spoofing, dark vessels, and adverse weather conditions make maritime surveillance even more challenging.

SEAMLESS, or Sensor-Enhanced Awareness for Maritime Law Enforcement, provides a high-tech and automated solution to enhance situational awareness of potential maritime threats. In addition, it offers capabilities to automate associated risk assessments and communication with a rapid-response aircraft (a long-range Diamond DA62).

Objective

SEAMLESS aims to demonstrate an integrated, low-latency information chain that accelerates the path from threat detection to operational response.

Approach

The project combines real-time data from offshore vessels, surveillance aircraft, radar systems, AIS, and satellites. AI models support the detection and classification of suspicious vessels, even under challenging weather conditions.
